The International Fair of the Sea, FIMAR 2019
The International Fair of the Sea, FIMAR 2019, which will be held from May 10 to 12 in the Plaza de Canarias and the surroundings of the Muelle de Santa Catalina, will dedicate its ninth edition to the Vela Latina Canaria, coinciding with the 115th anniversary of the first Latin sailing regatta held in the bay of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in 1904. Over the last few years, this event has been a great destination to professionals in the nautical and marine-maritime sector. It is jointly promoted by the City Council of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the Cabildo de Gran Canaria and the Port Authority of Las Palmas, and organized by the City Council of Mar and Infecar.
During FIMAR2019, for the first time in Spain several national sailing delegations from Catalonia, Galicia and Valencia will gather together at the Canary Islands. There will be three days of outdoor activities for companies, professionals of the sector, consumers of marine and maritime services and products, researchers and families. On May 9, one day before FIMAR2019, the Blue Economy Forum will be held, promoted by the Cabildo de Gran Canaria and Infecar, which will focus on cetaceans and logistics and transport of large projects. May 13 will be dedicated to aquaculture and marine biotechnology in the islands.
